This first part in Russ Leng’s three-part series will focus on the “Rise of Fascism in the 1920s & ‘30s: Could It Happen Here?” The class will trace how Mussolini and Hitler rose to power between the world wars, and consider how a modern nation may permit a dictator to assume control, even in a democracy like the U.S.

Leng is a political science professor at Middlebury College and at the Academy of Lifetime Learning, Cape Cod Community College.
