Author Talk: Elspeth Hay

  • Snow Library 67 Main Street Orleans, MA United States (map)

Come to the Craine Room to hear writer and public radio host Elspeth Hay talk about her new book, Feed Us with Trees: Nuts and the Future of Food.

Elspeth is fascinated by the world of place-based living and how food plays a role in the ways we interact with our environment. Her radio show, The Local Food Report, has highlighted local food sources on the Cape and Islands for years. Now, Feed Us with Trees takes an in-depth look at the often overlooked, yet very promising, perennial nut trees (i.e. oaks, chestnuts, and hazelnuts) as a source of food. Pulling from new and ancient food systems, Elspeth examines how these trees can change our relationship with food and the environment for the better.

Copies of the book will be available for sale and signing after the talk. Admission is free and all are welcome.
