An introductory course recommended for a greater understanding of the Irish literary landscape, exploring the literature of Ireland from antiquity to the early 20th century. This course led by Mary Ann Eaton (B.A. in English, Studies in Irish and Celtic Literature, University College Cork, Ireland) will provide an intense overview of key literary eras and genres, a timeline of literature that will leave you with the knowledge and thirst to continue exploring and reading on your own. We will touch on ancient mythological tales, folklore, poetry, and a journal from the Western Island of the Great Blasket. Itinerary will be sent after registering. Weekly reading lessons will be emailed, and one book will be read.
