Cape Noir Radio Theater returns to Snow Library to put on another live show. Come to the Craine Room for a performance of Hello Bigelow, a dark comedy-thriller about a down-and-out door-to-door salesman and a suburban housewife left home alone on Valentine’s Day. Written and directed with music by J Hagenbuckle, and performed by Nina Schuessler and J Hagenbuckle, this comedy-thriller is sure to make for an engaging performance.
Nina Schuessler is the 2012 recipient of the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod’s Lifetime Achievement in the Arts Award for her contributions to the Cape community through her tremendous work with Cape Cod Theatre Company/Harwich Junior Theatre. During her 25 years as Artistic Director, Nina produced and/or directed more than 200 plays and musicals, including 20 new scripts by playwrights in residence. As an actor, her favorite roles include Kate Keller (All My Sons), Gertrude (Hamlet), Bananas (House of Blue Leaves), Frankie (Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune), and Shirley Novak (Hello Bigelow).
J Hagenbuckle is the creator of Cape Noir Radio Theater. Since October 2022, thirty half-hour episodes have been broadcast and streamed on WOMR community radio in Provincetown and released on the WOMR podcast page. His four-decade-long career as a sound designer/composer began in the early days of W.H.A.T. and includes Broadway, Off Broadway, Regional, Boston, Cape theater, film, and dance. He’s written or adapted twenty-two of the thirty Cape Noir episodes and adapted five full-length classic thrillers for the stage, produced at Cape Cod Theatre Co./HJT. J is an NEA/TCG Design Fellow, a Boston Elliot Norton Award recipient, and earned an MFA in Theater Arts Sound from Brandeis.
